BVIS/FVAS uses teachers with at least a bachelor’s degree, have a license to teach their assigned subject and have demonstrated that they know and understand the content they teach
Knows. Teachers are on hand to support students as they progress through the course, provide timely feedback and one-on-one assistance with challenging concepts and tasks.
A student enrolled in BVIS/FVAS has access to the recurring interaction initiated by the teacher. When students complete course assignments, teachers provide feedback to students about performance as well as suggestions for future success. They will also start additional help through the use of simultaneous sessions (webinar, video chat), phone calls, emails, and text chat. These interactions between teacher and student occur almost daily.
Students are required to interact with their teachers in real time during the course. Real-time interaction between a student and a teacher can be for multiple reasons. One-on-one sessions are conducted over the phone, video chat, text chat, and email on a need-based basis for the purpose of teaching and individual therapy. Teachers also offer regularly synchronized sessions to cover specific content. All students are required to attend these webinars/video chat sessions.
Assessments are assessed by a highly qualified teacher, computer, or both. Although the percentage may vary by course, between 30 and 50% of assessments are assessed by the teacher alone. For electronic assessments, feedback within the document is submitted either using comments or PDF coding tools and then returned to the student through the learning management system. For any concurrent assessments, such as
Criteria or oral assessments, feedback is provided in a written format within the Learning Management System (LMS) assessment form in the student’s gradebook. All notes are captured and stored within BVIS/FVAS
