To maintain academic integrity, Al-Batool Virtual International School (BVIS) and Al-Furqan Private School – Virtual American Program (FVAS) require that all work submitted by students be the result of entirely the individual’s effort. Plagiarism will not be tolerated, and instructors will not accept stolen work. This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices followed by Al-Batool Virtual International School (BVIS) and Al-Furqan Private School – Virtual American Program (FVAS) (“BVIS/FAVS” or “we” or “us”) when collecting and using information.

 

1- Information We Collect.

We collect data to provide the products and services you request, facilitate navigation on the Site, communicate with you, and improve your experience using the Site. Some of this information is provided by you directly to us, such as when you register for an account. Some of the information is collected through your interactions with the Site. 1.3 Information from Other Sources.

We also obtain your information when it is provided by your parent or guardian, or a representative of the institution (such as a school or other educational institution) that funds your use of the Site. We, and third parties we deal with, may combine the information we collect from you over time, and across the Site, with information obtained from other sources. This helps us improve the overall accuracy and completeness of the information, and also helps us better customize our interactions with you.

1.4 Location Information.

We collect your address information, such as your shipping and billing address, when you set up your account and order our products or services. We also collect and use information about your general location (e.g., your country of residence) and may infer your approximate location based on your IP address in order to track our general use of the Site or to customize any relevant aspects of your user experience to the region in which you are located.

1.5 Information about Others.

You may also provide us with personal information about a third party in connection with a course or via a message board, among other things. We collect and handle any such personal information about others in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You represent and warrant that you have obtained any required consent, provided any required notice, and have fully complied with all applicable laws, including any data protection laws, in connection with any information you provide to us about others.

1.6 Social Media.

If you interact with us or our other users in connection with our products and services on any Social Media: (i) the personal information you submit by and through such Social Media may be read, collected and/or used by us and (ii) when BVIS/FAVS responds to any interaction with you on Social Media, your account name/ID may be viewable by any and all members or users of BVIS/FAVS’s social media accounts. We are not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit or associate on any Social Media. Social media operate independently of Apex Learning, and we are not responsible for the social media interfaces, privacy practices, or security. We encourage you to review the privacy policies and settings of any social media you interact with to help you understand their privacy practices. 2- Third Party Analytics Providers.

We also use Google Analytics, Facebook, and other third party analytics providers (“Analytics Providers”) to collect information about the use of the Site and users of the Site. These analytics providers use cookies to collect demographic, interest level, and usage information from users who visit the Site, including information about the pages users enter and exit the Site, the pages users view on the Site, time spent, browser, operating system, and IP address. Cookies allow the analytics providers to recognize a user when a user visits the Site and when a user visits other websites. The analytics providers use the information they collect from the Site and other websites to share with us and other website operators about users, including age group, gender, geographic areas, general interests, and details about the devices used to visit the Site and other websites and purchase items.

3- External Links.

The Site contains links to third-party websites and services, including links to social media. We are not responsible for the content, features or functionality of any linked websites or services. We are also not responsible for the privacy practices and terms and conditions of use of any third party websites or services. Linked websites and services may collect personal information from you that we do not control. The data collection practices of linked third party websites and services will be subject to that third party’s privacy policy and terms of use.

4- How we use your information.

4.1 General.

We may use or disclose the personal information identified above for one or more of the following business purposes (“Business Purpose”):

To fulfill or satisfy the reason for your providing the information (for example, to help provide products and services to you).

To personalize and develop our Site and the services we provide to you through the Site and improve our offerings.

To provide certain features or functionality on the Site.

To create, maintain, customize and secure your account with us.

4.2 Account-Related Emails.

When you create an account with us and provide us with your email address, we may, in accordance with applicable law, use your email address to send you Site-related notices (including any notices required by law, in lieu of regular mail), updates, news and marketing messages. For example, when you sign up for an account, you will receive a welcome email. If the Site or our Services are temporarily unavailable, we may also send you a notice email.

Email communications you receive from us will generally provide an unsubscribe link or instructions that allow you to opt out of receiving future emails or change your communication preferences. You can always decline to provide your personal information to us. Registering for an account or providing your personal information is not required to access some of our online content. If you choose not to provide certain personal information to us, some of your experiences may be affected.

5.2 You may decline other requests.

We use our users’ personal information as needed for the purposes for which it was collected or where you consented to our use of such information. If you do not wish to provide information to us or do not wish to consent to the uses described in this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site, create an account, or provide us with the requested information.

5.3 Non-Discrimination.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights. We will not:

5.4 Online Tracking Options.

7- Children’s Online Privacy.

If a child registers or otherwise uses some of our products or services, we may collect and use personal information from that child, his or her parent or guardian, or the applicable sponsoring organization. As part of our services, we may also provide such personal information to the child’s parent or guardian, or the applicable sponsoring organization. We do not use this personal information for any other business purpose. A parent or guardian may review or terminate their child’s registration, and refuse to allow the collection or use of their child’s personal information, at any time by contacting us or the child’s sponsoring organization. If a parent terminates a child’s registration, we will delete the personal information provided to us in connection with the registration. In any event, we will delete a child’s personal information once the information is no longer needed for its educational purpose.

8- Changes to this Privacy Policy.

Because our privacy practices and the law necessarily evolve over time, we reserve the right to review this Privacy Policy from time to time in our sole discretion. You should review this Privacy Policy periodically to ensure that you are aware of the most current version. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date posted above will constitute your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
