Middle School (7-9)

Al Batool International Virtual School (BVIS) and Al Furjan Private School – American Virtual Program (FVAS) provide interactive digital courses for students in grades seven to nine. Students enrolled in this program will receive a total of 7 credits throughout the academic year.

In our middle school program, we give students more responsibility as well as more work on their digital courses than was previously given in our elementary school courses. This allows the student to acquire the necessary learning habits and time management skills that will be useful for a successful transition to high school and further education.

This program is designed to help students understand the strengths and weaknesses of their learning and act on them accordingly with the help of their assigned teachers. Overall, middle school is a time to explore as many students begin to discover their identity and interests. Our comprehensive and flexible middle school program provides time and resources for students to begin their journey of self-exploration.

Student Support
When you choose our middle schools, we surround you and your student with support. Although your student works independently, they are not alone.

First impressions are important, especially for middle school students. That’s why we’ll guide your students on how to get started with their digital courses while mentoring new students. If your student has questions about how to navigate their course, they can reach out to our friendly and responsive student services team via phone, email, and chat.

Support for parents
At the middle school level, it is important to be able to continue to participate in your student’s education.

We will make sure that you can easily monitor the student. You will receive a weekly progress report via email with an overview of the student’s performance in each of their courses. This report also includes detailed information about a student’s grades and the amount of time spent on course activities.

If you have concerns about your student’s progress, you can contact your student’s teacher and academic advisor for support.

If you want to keep other adult advocates informed of your student’s progress, we can make sure they get a weekly progress report as well.

Curriculum Engagement

We will not burden the student with long pages of text to read. Instead, to reach all types of learners, we make sure to address different learning styles. Your student is asked to watch, listen, read, interact, practice, and create.

Supports are built directly into the course to help your students when they are experiencing difficulties. Examples of these supports include concepts biotic videos, keyword definitions, and low-risk assessments that allow them to review what they’ve learned before moving on to a recorded activity.
